Library Cards: A Library card is free to residents and taxpayers of Bremen. Non-residents may purchase a one-year temporary card for $15.
Borrowing and Renewals: Books, magazines and audio- books circulate for a two-week period. DVD’s may be checked out for one week. Items may be renewed unless another borrower has requested the item. You can request renewals in person, by telephone (529-5572), or by email to email@example.com.
What can you do with a Bremen Library card?
-Borrow books, movies, audiobooks and magazines.
-Borrow ebooks and audiobooks from the 3M Cloud Library.
-Access many online resources including Ancestry.com.
Fines: The Library does not charge overdue fines. We ask that patrons return books and other materials in a timely manner. If someone has requested a reserve on an item that is overdue we will contact the patron and ask for return of the item. If library materials are not returned or are lost we will ask you to pay for the lost items. We keep an “overdue donation” box on the library desk if you wish to fine yourself!
Library Use: The Library is free to all for computer use, wi-fi access, browsing, reference, and program attendance. To borrow materials you must register for a library card. This must be done in person at the library. We have one computer for public use. Our internet connection is provided by the Maine School and Library Service and is high speed. You may also bring your own wireless device to use in the library.
E-Books: Any member of the library may register for an account with Cloud Library. You may borrow both ebooks and audible books for free. You will need your library card number to register for an account. Just call us to get your card number – 529-5572.
Printing and copying: We have a wireless printer that can be used to print from your phone or other wireless device. We also have a copier. Printouts and copies are $0.10 per page.
Meeting room: The library has a meeting room available for use by community members for meetings and free programs. There are tables and chairs, a/v equipment and a large screen. Other people and groups may use the library but are charged a fee. Check with the librarian for more information about the meeting room and for scheduling.
