The Life and Legacy of Frances Perkins

Please join us on Thursday, August 29, at 7:00 pm for a showing of the newly released 30-minute documentary on The Life and Legacy of Frances Perkins, produced by the Frances Perkins Center. Based on its Senior College course of several years, this program includes interviews with lecturers Leah Sprague, Christopher Breiseth, Charles Wyzanski and Sarah Peskin who cover her Maine Roots and early career, the woman behind the New Deal, the letters of Charles Wyzanski’s father, the Solicitor of the Labor Department in the New Deal, and jobs, infrastructure and Art in the New Deal.


Michael Chaney, Executive Director of the Frances Perkins Center since 2014, will be on hand to answer questions and participate in audience discussion.  A companion traveling exhibit will be on display from Wednesday, August 21 through Thursday, August 29 at the Bremen Library.
